During my work at Wall Street English, I was part of dynamic teams dedicated to enhancing the language learning experience for students.


My primary focus was on boosting engagement levels, sparking interest, and ensuring students not only start their language-learning journey, but also return with enthusiasm.

Challenge:

The challenge at hand was twofold: first, to elevate the overall engagement of students within the platform, and second, to reimagine and reconstruct the onboarding process.

Understanding that engaged learners are more likely to persist and succeed, our mission was clear — to create an environment that not only imparts language skills but also brings a sense of excitement and commitment among students.

I collaborated closely with a multidisciplinary team, bringing together diverse skill sets ranging from educational technology to user experience design.


Our collective goal was to improve the way students interact with the Wall Street English platform, ensuring that every touchpoint was meaningful and engaging for effective studying.

Design Process Overview

1.Desk research

The journey began with a desk research phase, where I into existing literature, industry best practices, and case studies related to language learning platforms and educational technology.

2.Benchmarking

I conducted benchmarking exercises to analyse the strengths of existing language learning platforms. This involved studying competitors and industry leaders, analysing their interfaces, communication strategies, and onboarding processes.

3.Qualitative research

To gain a deep understanding of our users, I led qualitative research initiatives, primarily through in-depth interviews. This involved crafting interview guides alligned with research goals.

4.Analysis

The collected data was analysed and synthesised. I extracted patterns, themes, and key insights, forming a narrative that outlined the needs, motivations, and challenges of our users. This helped to define and prioritise next steps.
